YS-1 YooperliteTM sphere by Erik Rintamaki. Measures approximately 2.8 inches or 75mm and weighs 1 pound 1 ounce or 17 ounces total.
This is a highly polished YooperliteTM sphere made from a very bright Galaxy pattern YooperliteTM that was found by Erik Rintamaki the discoverer of YooperlitesTM, on the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan in 2018.
This sphere was hand ground rough using a 36 grit diamond wheel. Then a highland Park sphere machine was used at 220 grit to make it perfect round. Then Erik hand polished it to a high gloss finish, all by hand.
To see the fluorescence you must use longwave 365nm uv lighting. Pictures were taken using a Convoy S2+UV nichia 365nm with filter, which is also available here at www.yooperlites.com
This sphere was just featured in a photo shoot for Yooperlites!! You can own a famous Yooperlite sphere. It is the sphere in the photo with the model.
