How long is the tour?

Please plan on arriving by 9pm in order to make sure everyone can leave for the tour on time. Due to the amount of daylight in the summer, we cannot give an estimated end time, however tours typically run 2 hours, possibly a bit longer. Travel could range from 7-20 miles from the meeting point may be required due to wind/wave conditions along Lake Superior, along with road conditions.

What should I bring?

  • Backpack or bag
  • A white LED flashlight with new batteries
  • Proper footwear (hiking or muck boots)
  • Light rain jacket
  • Proper attire for the time of year in the Upper Peninsula
  • Bug spray
  • Snack and drink

What do I get?

Along with the tour, you'll get your own Ultimate Yooperlites package (a $75 value) to keep!

Physical requirements

You must be physically capable & able to walk on uneven terrain with limited visibility.

What can I keep?

We abide by all state & federal laws. In Michigan, you get to keep all the stones you find, up to 25 lbs in total.

Where can I stay?

We recommend the Winter Haven Motel or the Muskallonge Lake State Park

Cancellation Requirements

We understand that circumstances change. Due to the demand of Erik's tours, we do ask that in order to be fully refunded, you must cancel up to 2 weeks prior to your scheduled date. Under 2 weeks prior, you'll be refunded 50% of the booking price.

Tours will NOT be cancelled for bugs (mosquitos, sand flies, etc)

In the event of inclement weather, the guide may deem that the conditions are unsafe. In this case, you may be refunded or offered an alternative date if available.
